TRE (Tension and Trauma Release Exercise)

TRE (Tension and trauma release exercise) is a series of innovative exercises, developed by Dr David Berceli, that work to activate our innate ability to shake or vibrate, a reflex which is common to all mammals. This tremor mechanism assists the body to release held patterns muscular tension, that have been stored in the body after stressful or traumatic events. This can change the messages sent to the brain from the body, helping to calm down the nervous system and encourage the body to return to a state of balance.

 

Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (or TRE) are based on the fundamental idea, backed by research, that stress, tension and trauma have both psychological and physical elements. TRE® is designed to be a self-help tool that, once learned, can be used independently as needed throughout one’s life, thereby continuously supporting and promoting personal health and wellness.
